To ask for recommended books on how to overcome anger and irritability (in the relationship)?

NC for this.

I have always had a quick temper - not afraid of confrontation - and pretty defensive, I guess. I really notice it increase as I go through menopause, even though I'm on HRT.

I'd like to address it. Can anyone recommended any good books on the subject? I like books that are less woo woo and more meaty/grounded in science etc... or any people to follow/look up?

It makes me miserable, and although my partner is pretty challenging - we both acknowledge our part - I really want to try and diminish this bit of me. If I can.

avoid big heavy ones , unless you have stong arms and a good aim.

The Dance of Anger by Harriet Lerner is exactly what you need.
