To consider a different role at my company?

Sorry for posting here but really need opinions!

I've got a good job but it is very high pressure, there's a lot of change at the moment in the structure and possible redundancies coming up although nothing has been said about my role. I have loads of responsibility and autonomy, am treated with respect and get on fabulously with all my colleagues who are the nicest I've ever worked with.

I have an opportunity to take a very similar role for a branch of my company in a different country, but same language. The location doesn't matter as either role is 100% remote anyway. The main reason for considering it is the other branch is more secure, far less likely to be restructured and also the role there is considered slightly higher level. The salary is a few grand higher too. I think the pressure levels may be even worse though and the team in general just aren't like my really lovely team, they don't all get on as well as we do although they're perfectly nice.

Should i consider moving over? I have 1 week to decide. I feel really bad leaving my team if i did go so i don't know what to do.

I'd go for it personally! You never grow by standing still.

@ChangeChingyChange very true! Although i've only been in my current role 3 years so not particularly long.

Thats quite a long time for me. I tend to change roles every 18 months to 2 years max. Been with the same company for 15 years though. Go for it!

Not many responses :( I pro and con'd scored them both up and my current role comes up a good 10% higher...except for the big factor that im not confident our division won't become obsolete in the future whereas the new one would not. But that isn't a certainty, just a possibility. I don't know what to do.

I think you should go, after 3 years it’s a good time to move on and it looks like the only reason your really reluctant is because your current team are more friendly, which is nice but it’s not worth making career decisions on. Go for it OP!

Go!
