To ask how you make your scrambled eggs?

I use a couple drops of milk, all purpose seasoning and black pepper. Mix it all together and put it in a pan then onto scrambling. My mum also does the same and I absolutely love it but wondered what other people did so I could try out some new ways of making scrambled egg?

Bit of a boring topic so posted here for traffic😂

Why on earth would so many of you want to dilute the delicious eggs with milk? Ugh!Shock

Just good butter melted in a non-stick pan, pour in whisked eggs, stirring constantly, take off heat whilst still slightly sloppy, salt and pepper once plated. Perfection!

miltonj · 07/12/2021 22:23

Lol I scramble the eggs once they're in the pan... thought that was the point. Obviously I've been doing it wrong! Grin it's always worked for me. Eggs in pan, butter, milk or cream, some seasoning, melted cheese etc. Varies depending on how I feel. If it's for my baby I stick veg in too.

Duckrace · 07/12/2021 23:22

Tiny bit of butter melted, add bashed up eggs, stir as it cooks. Crucially, take it off the heat just before it is set, as it continues to cook.

BobbieT1999 · 07/12/2021 23:25

I don't...No one can make them better than my dad so it's not worth trying Grin

StarlightLady · 08/12/2021 04:32

Add butter to pan and add eggs as if you are going to fry them. Smash the eggs to bits while it’s on the heat as they start to fry. Add black pepper and, if it’s not breakfast eggs, add Herbs de Provence.

Best served after sex and a great alternative for non smokers. 😂😂💥

@GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing

And serve with Worcestershire sauce
i'm going to try that! cheers.

A lot of butter and cook the eggs low and slow.

Makes them so creamy.

I adore this recipe for something different.

I do mine in the microwave. Good bit of butter and some milk or cream then blitz for 30 seconds, mash with fork then repeat til done.

maxbaby · 08/12/2021 07:48

Do people consider salt & pepper as seasoning or something?😂
It barely scratches the surface....

Not just any pepper...freshly ground, black pepper 🤣

Didn't even know I was a scrambly snob until now!

Swirlywoo · 08/12/2021 07:54

Same as @dotty81

I think this is how Delia does it too, so...

FabulouslyFab · 08/12/2021 08:03

I love this thread! 👍

Melt butter in pan, add whisked eggs, stir until scrambled. When nearly done, remove from heat and stir in a spoonful of crème fraiche.

Never heard of adding milk to scrambled eggs, that was a surprise!

Indoctro · 08/12/2021 08:12

You shouldn't put milk in scrambled eggs , when they start to set that's what the water is that appears it's from the milk

Melted butter in a pan and whisked eggs added makes perfect scrambled eggs

WhenSepEnds · 08/12/2021 08:45

I like to add a little bit of grated cheese in mine

BouncersDream · 08/12/2021 12:55

Baveuse.

TrickyD · 08/12/2021 13:27

Like most posters, plenty of butter.
But no one has mentioned the most important thing, (to me anyway),
Whisk the eggs really well then run them into the pan through a small sieve.
This prevents any of those stringy little 'balancers" getting into finished egg.
They revolt me.

NigellaAwesome · 23/12/2021 00:05

Definitely no milk or microwave.

I don't even bother whisking beforehand. Just melt butter in the pan, crack eggs directly in then break up with a wooden spoon. Stir until creamy, sprinkle with salt at the end.

@dotty81

My God I have to respond here as I feel hugely passionate about scrambled eggs ;-)

Melt a lot of butter in a frying pan.

Whisk the eggs with salt. Never pepper at this stage as it just produces really ugly grey looking scrambled eggs.

Never stop moving the egg around the pan while cooking it and cook it on a very low heat.

When it's hardened but still a bit runny turn off the heat as the heat of the pan will continue to cook it for a minute or so.

Then once it's served put on all the black pepper you like.

No salt when whisking eggs, it breaks up the eggs.

It took longer than I thought for people to get snobby about - GASP - salt and pepper seasoning!
