Why are gin adverts on telly so wanky at the moment?

Gin has become a parody of itself. I do wish it would fuck off. It’s a hair’s breath away from becoming the new Prosecco

Etc etc
All printed on naff velvet cushions, glitter wine glasses and pieces of pink driftwood

Probably for the same reason there's such a lot of wanky gin about in the stores.

I bought some Tarquin’s with blackberry a while back (reduced on Ocado). It was vaguely medicinal. The regular stuff is nice though.

As a gin drinker of the last 30 years this wanky gin shit does my head in. I just saw a Let the Festivities be Gin christmas card and I got ridiculously fucked off.
When I'm out I order the cheapest gin - usually Gordons and I love it. I'd probably pay extra if it came in an old fashioned wine glass, slice of lemon and half a bottle of schweppes. Old skool. Bah Humbug.
