Night Away - should we go?

We are due to go away for the night this weekend. Traveling by train, going to a concert, staying in a hotel and back by train.
DH asked me last night if I still want to go after the news of the new Covid variant. The concert is mainly his choice but I'm quite happy to go along. At the same time I would be quite happy to stay at home too. The hotel can be cancelled with full refund but obviously not the train or concert.
I've said it's up to him but Im wondering if he thinks I have concerns or if it's him that has concerns.
I feel selfish in that if I was truthful I probably would rather stay at home but that's more about tidying and preparing for Christmas.

I would go. It sounds fun. It’s different. Christmas can happen regardless of the tidiness of your house 🙂
Spend some fun time with your DH

Definitely go.

girlmom21 · 05/12/2021 14:50

I'd definitely go. It's nice to have time away together.

Bigoldhag · 05/12/2021 17:01

If you’ve got christmas plans i guess now is your last chance if you do get covid and have to isolate without ruining them? (Just i think!)

Would i? Probably not. It feels like covid cases are at a ridiculous level here and loads i know have been positive. Probably just luck at the mo, but feels too risky.

I'd definitely go, sounds great

I8toys · 05/12/2021 17:05

Definitely go. It will get worse the nearer christmas gets. We've got gigs and comedy booked. We are definitely going. Holiday abroad however not risking it.

MrzClaus · 05/12/2021 17:15

I'd definitely go!

Just back from a 150+ person wedding and it felt just amazing to do something normal. Dancing and drinking until the wee hours, singing along to the band and just having a great time!

If you'll enjoy it I'd 100% go, enjoy yourself and have some fun 😊

BritWifeInUSA · 05/12/2021 17:19

Definitely go. COVID is always going to be here. If you’re going to wait until COVID is over before you do anything except tidy your house you’re going to have a tidy house for the rest of your life and never do anything else.

ChangeChingyChange · 05/12/2021 17:34

So actually you just don't really want to go - nothing to do with covid? I think that's a bit unfair. I'd still go if I were you

Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/12/2021 17:36

Of course I'd go.

FrownedUpon · 05/12/2021 17:49

I wouldn’t go especially if you’re not really fussed. I’m focusing on staying fit and healthy for a big Christmas. Wouldn’t risk it for a concert I wasn’t bothered about.
