"This might upset some people"

A Facebook post from one of my Facebook friends - a local business rather than someone I know personally - starts with "this might upset some people", then goes on at length to talk about how she's upset by the actions of people. Very trivial stuff to be honest.

I wouldn't comment on her post tbh because I don't deliberately want to upset people but it seems incredibly ironic to start a post with "this might upset some people" then go on and on about people being kind to each other?

Or AIBU?

Ahh scroll on past
Or put them on mute

It’s liberating

Strange and hypocritical. What 'actions' of other people is she upset by? Some people really do have the cognition of a slug don't they?

girlmom21 · 05/12/2021 09:30

It's for attention. Plain and simple.

ineedsun · 05/12/2021 09:33

They’re having a passive aggressive pop at someone I’d imagine

RoastPotatoQueen · 05/12/2021 09:35

I'd never use that business again. Very unprofessional.

Some people are upset by everything. The permanently offended. Just keep them as a Facebook friend and not a real one and you’ll be fine.

Funny, this thread is doing something similar, isn't it?

It's clearly upset you then and now you're having a passive aggressive pop at her behind her back.

When people have something to say, it's fine to say it. People do get offended by everything, which is why some people feel the need to put that disclaimer while expressing themselves, annoyances, etc.

Sorry but that's ridiculous! Posting directly to the people involved is very different.
