To go to Christmas show?

DH, DD2 and I have tickets for a children's Christmas show tomorrow morning with friends.

DH had been contacted today by track and trace - someone he works with (and had a face to face meeting with this week) has tested positive for COVID so now DH has to isolate until he gets a negative PCR (we are in Scotland so rules slightly different than England). He booked/went for the PCR within an hour of finding out, but we probably won't get the results in time for the show.

Technically DD and I don't have to isolate since DH has no symptoms and is just a "close contact".

AIBU to consider going to the show (without DH)?

YABU - Even if the rules say it's ok, you shouldn't take the risk.

YANBU - Go to the show, why should your DD miss out.

Take lft and if negative off you go.

Yes I would go.

Honestly? I’d go but without your husband.

@mantlemoose LFT is a good idea, I'll have both of us take one first thing in the morning before the show (and leave DH behind)

As long as you're following the rules then don't give it a second thought. Do a LFT and if it's negative then you're good.

There will be other people in the same position in every public area you'll go into. Don't feel guilty about it.

Personally I wouldn't. New variant and close to Christmas...let's try to reduce the chances of another lockdown.

MizzFizz · 04/12/2021 09:15

In the end decided we won't go unless his PCR results come in negative. Don't want to risk it.

I would go. Have you not had the results yet? They are normally very quick
