Just got this text message (picture hopefully attached) saying I need to provide aaaaaalll my details for a COVID pass. It looks pretty when you click on the link, but the web address seems funny. I’m not wrong, am I? Hopefully others will beware too.

Yes that's a scam

daimbarsatemydogsbone · 01/12/2021 11:20

100% scam - government addresses end in .gov

SunnyLeaf · 01/12/2021 11:20

Yes scam, never click links like this!

dementedpixie · 01/12/2021 11:21

Its come from a random mobile number. I wouldn't click on any links in a text

HeartsAndClubs · 01/12/2021 11:21

Yep. I had it the other day.

vodkaredbullgirl · 01/12/2021 11:22

scam

Tal45 · 01/12/2021 11:24

Looking at nhs and gov pages they're .uk not .com so that suggests scam.

slashlover · 01/12/2021 12:11

Forward it to 7726 to report spam.

NotSoNewAndShiny · 01/12/2021 12:24

You should never click on a link from a text or email even if you know the brand. It isn't a safe thing to do.

Best to go to their website directly and check for the information they've sent or contact them to confirm.

Does anyone know how to do this on iPhone - on mine there isn't an option to forward txts ?
NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 01/12/2021 12:29

@daimbarsatemydogsbone

You just tap on the message

Then 'more'

You can forward from there!

Ask if that's not clear!!

Whitefire · 01/12/2021 12:30

On my iPhone work, android is so much better after clicking more there is a little arrow to press.

Pericombobulations · 01/12/2021 12:33

I had this yesterday, googled the number and lots of other people also reported it as a scammer.

Doh! - thanks got it now

KatherineJaneway · 01/12/2021 12:54

I received one of these the other day, a scam.

MyComputerGetsSadWithoutMe · 01/12/2021 12:56

You have 116 messages?! 😶 that would drive me crackers... 😅😅

MamDancer · 01/12/2021 12:57

Yep neither NHS or Government sites end in .com.

CointreauVersial · 01/12/2021 13:08

7726 is a good one to remember (it's SPAM on your phone keypad). You get an immediate response to say it's logged.

I had one of those pesky "pay £2.34 for your Royal Mail parcel to be delivered" texts. Scamming bastards.

xILikeJamx · 01/12/2021 13:33

Yeah I get Royal Mail / Hermes / DHL type ones asking for money all the time. No idea where they got my number from!
