To write one body positive statement/ something to remember when struggling with insecurities / something to reassure those who are especially struggling this time of year with body image, diet culture, etc.

I'll start...

We are not defined by the number on the scales. Let's not waste time obsessing over that bastard number...

Your turn? :) x

The number on the scales and the label in my clothes are the least interesting things about me.

BreathingDeep · 29/11/2021 18:24

Thanks OP Smile

WakeUpLockie · 29/11/2021 18:25

My body has taken me through every experience I have had, and for that I thank it.

bodypositive54 · 29/11/2021 18:26

I love these!

I feel the urge to go again...

My stomach having lumps and bumps doesn't make me any less worthy.

Other than a very small number of your nearest and dearest.. the majority of people don't give a flying f*ck what you look like, what you wear or what you weigh! They are all so caught up in their own insecurities...

Basically.. people aren't thinking what you think they are thinking.. they genuinely don't care.

MaudebeGonne · 29/11/2021 18:28

I'll never get blown over by a strong gale.

ColleysMill · 29/11/2021 18:29

This body that you loathe and spend too long worrying about can deadlift 55kg 🏋

mybroomstick · 29/11/2021 18:29

I have very pretty feet. Grin

NEbotherpet · 29/11/2021 18:32

I needed to read this right now ❤️

eldorado02 · 29/11/2021 18:32

If you ‘can’t stick to a diet’, don’t feel self loathing. Restricting your lovely body and denying it sustenance will most likely make you crave what you deny it, which is why you end up bingeing. Be kind, trust what your body tells you, and you’ll feel so much better, even if that means living in a body larger than you’d like.

RaisedByPangolins · 29/11/2021 18:33

I don’t owe anyone a nice view - my body is an instrument not an ornament.

Opensesame1 · 29/11/2021 18:34

Punishing a binge with restriction will only lead to further binging. Eat something nutritious and filling, drink some water and be kind to yourself.

Holly60 · 29/11/2021 18:35

If my body is healthy and allows me to live my life how I want, it has not let me down.

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 29/11/2021 18:35

Anyone who judges me for my appearance is not a person whose judgement is worth anything.

Mermaidwaves · 29/11/2021 18:37

I stand out in a crowd! 6ft very plus size woman, I used to hate being heads taller than most people, but sometimes if I'm dressed up and feeling confident ( very rare!) It's quite empowering to walk in a room and feel all eyes on you.

Disclaimer : most days I hate my appearance with a passion.

Coviddy · 29/11/2021 18:37

My body is far from beautiful but I'm so glad I stopped pretending being morbidly obese was ok and sorted it out. I am healthy and strong despite my wrinkly skin and saggy tits

changeitplease · 29/11/2021 18:37

I have a very sharp brain and a tenacious attitude that has made me successful at all my ventures. Plus I have a very pretty face :)

TildaRae · 29/11/2021 18:39

My body has done amazing things and I appreciate it in all its imperfect glory.

mumonthehill · 29/11/2021 18:41

My wibbly, wobbling body is all soft with no sharp edges, I quite like that. Every mark, scar, stretch mark is part of my history.

Tambourinetunes · 29/11/2021 18:41

I’ve never looked at anyone and thought they looked 2/3lb heavier than last week yet I could beat myself up for the numbers on the scales comparing my numbers convinced it was an awful thing.

mrstnov13 · 29/11/2021 18:45

I'm proud of my body and all that's it's achieved.

I feel quite emotional reading these.

I've struggled for years but I'm struggling even more so lately.

Thank you everyone...

My body, for all its faults and wobbly bits, is a blooming miracle.

Sparklesocks · 29/11/2021 19:03

Everyday my body pumps blood, breathes, moves, digests, protects itself, repairs and heals, detoxifies, feels, hears, smells, tastes, sees. It is a well oiled machine and I’m lucky that I have it to do what I need.

lazylinguist · 29/11/2021 19:20

Dieting won't fix you, because you don't need fixing! Step off the pointless weight loss merry-go-round and nourish your body with real food and movement.
