Nursery nativity

I’m a bit uncertain about how to proceed with this year’s nativity. The plan was to hold it in the church hall, set up so that different families could be spaced out from each other. There’d be fewer than 30 families in total as it’s a small nursery.

We’ve managed to swerve any cases of covid so far (miraculously!) and I’m loathe to have an event a week before Christmas that could see children/teachers catching covid and having to isolate. On the other hand, it would be such a shame to miss it given that we didn’t have parents watching the nativity in person last year.

Would be good to get a gauge of people’s perspectives!

YABU - change how you do the nativity so you don’t facilitate a crowd
YANBU - don’t cancel the live performance and stick to the current plan

Is there anyway you could do a shorter version outside? That’s what our nursery is doing - a Christmas songs performance with a max of two people per child.

Could you do two performances? Limit to two adults attending, plus younger siblings if they can't be left.

We don’t have the outdoor space to fit in that number of people. The church hall is massive and the church holds services for over 250 people every Sunday, so I feel confident we could fit extremely socially-distanced families without any space issues.

I would have it in the church but limit to 2 people per child rather than whole families. My DC schools have always done this due to lack of space
