If you order a home PCR test would it be delivered on a Sunday?

AIBU to think I’m being bullshitted?

Symptoms Saturday. Said they’d ordered a home test (why not just go to the drive through half a mile away?). Then said it’s a delivered this morning so is now ‘waiting on results’.

If it is perfectly possible I will accept I am unreasonably cowish.

I doubt it. My postman delivered mine with my usual post. They do collect completed tests from priority postboxes on a Sunday

I thought they were delivered by postman so wouldn't think so

and the priority post boxes are emptied on a sunday too.

My parents had one delivered on a Sunday (didn't feel well enough to drive) and I put it in a priority post box which the last collection was 4pm on the Sunday. Results came through Tuesday if I remember correctly.

Sounds like there is a back story.

Assuming delivered by royal mail would not arrive today. I would not expect results very quickly from these companies.

When I ordered one (although it was a long time ago) it came with Amazon, they deliver on a Sunday.

My experience is that since the switched from amazon to Royal mail they don't deliver on a Sunday any more. They still collect from certain post boxes.

It's perfectly possible. I have had one delivered by Royal Mail on a Sunday, posted it in a priority postbox that afternoon, results back on Monday.

Last time I did a PCR I didn’t feel well enough to get in the car to go on the trek to a testing centre, so I sent off for one.

I often get them through post Sundays (have had a few now) I think royal mail must do a special delivery round for them or something.

If there's a child involved it's easier to do them at home.

Yes ours was delivered by amazon, ordered Saturday pm. Results came Tuesday am. Was about 3 weeks ago.

We ordered two (separately) last evening, one turned up today (Sunday) at 11:40 am. The other arrived at 2:15pm. Royal Mail tracking has them put on the same vehicle at the same time at the same Postoffice! Go figure.
