Different smell just before period

Evening,

Not really an AIBU but seems this thread gets more traffic and others have posted questions about vaginas here before.

Does anyone noticed that their vagina smells different just before their period starts?

I'm in my late twenties, it's not a bad or worrying smell, it's just something I've noticed just before my period came yesterday, and also before my last one, and this is new, as I've never smelt it previously.
I only notice this smell when my vag is bare, so when I'm on the toilet for example, not when clothed or in any other circumstance.

I don't have any infections, have had a smear recently etc, I think it's just one of those things our interesting vaginas can do as part of menstruating?

My ex could tell when my period was due because apparently it smelt different in the bathroom when I'd been for a wee Shock
I have no sense of smell so couldn't comment.

It’ll definitely be hormonal. I notice I’m different, not bad, just more noticeable - you’ll also notice various stages of discharge too which may align with the change in smell.

It may be that your sense of smell has changed rather than your odour down there. My sense of smell deffo became stronger the week before my period (don’t have them anymore).

I never noticed before until I was actively TTC my second baby. Each month we were trying I’d convince myself I was pregnant because I could smell more than usual then my period always came. Eventually I realised it was just a pre-period symptom for me but I’d only noticed it when I was looking for symptoms. Had baby, periods came back and it continued.
