To stop taking the pill

I’ve been given a combined pill to see if it improves the endo as part of a diagnostic process for me. I’m taking it without a break. I’m on my 3rd packet with 10days left.
I started spotting about 3 weeks ago, which lasted for over a week. Since then I’ve been bleeding very heavily and it seems to be getting increasingly worse.
Today, I passed (what looked like a clot) the size of half of my palm.

I rang the GP who said I should’ve taken a break after 21days. Meanwhile NHS and NICE guidance both state it’s common for it to be prescribed without breaks to help with the symptoms. My breast are so sore and my moods are horrendous. Add to the mix this heavy bleeding for nearly 2 weeks, I want to just stop taking it.

I’ve tried to contact my consultant several times without success.

You can get breakthrough bleeding if running a few packs together. Think it depends which pill it is too

Did the bleeding start before the end of the 2nd pack or after?

Thank you for taking time to reply. It started before the end of the 2nd packet. The size of the clots and how heavy the bleeding is has left me feeling scared tbh .

Thank you for this. Sounds like a break would be a good thing.
It’s not filled me with much confidence as the heavy bleeding is similar to what I was struggling with pre-pill.
It’s microgynon

Fellow endo sister...you can take it back to back but listen to your body. Personally taking microgynon back to back (1 break every 3 months) was torture for me and it also played absolute havoc with my already unpredictable cycles.

I switched to the mirena coil and literally changed my life. My cycles are also now normal lengths after having mirena removed (ttc), post-pill they were 55 days long.

Thank you @biddlybop! You’re absolutely right. My body is not happy with this. I’ve decided not to take it from today and hopefully I’m hoping I’ll stop bleeding soon enough.

I suggested the coil but the consultant said the pill would work better. I wish I’d pushed a bit harder now. Oh well!

55 days! Bless you! I’m glad to hear your cycles are back to not so now .

Thank you for taking the time Grin
