Richard Madeley felt a bit ill and what did North Wales NHS say?
“We sent a paramedic in a rapid-response car and an emergency ambulance to the scene, and one patient was taken to hospital.”
Yet my friends 87 year old mum was left lying in the street for 5 hours with a fractured pelvis before an ambulance arrived.
It make me sick!

Plus again, devils advocate - if Jane Doe dies because services are too slow everyone tuts and moves on. If celebrity dies because services are too slow - National media crisis.

Timing seems to be everything - sometimes there are no ambulances, sometimes a precautionary one arrives more or less instantly - seems to depend on what other stuff is going on (car crash, major incident, other people being ill) more than who you are.

Which would massively highlight the crisis

Umm not that I'm suggesting that a celebrity gets bumped off just maybe treated like an average person and triage accordingly

Surely the availability of an ambulance depends on a number of factors, including the area of the country, the time of day, the day of the week and the relative urgency of the particular situation. Are you suggesting that the ambulance service prioritise people based on wealth?

Notwithstanding that, what happened to your mum’s friend isn’t acceptable. However, I’d suggest it’s the governments’ fault rather than the ambulance service.

No idea of the circumstances of course, but there is also no doubting that money gives you the power of legal action.

Difficult to say but half 4/5am on a Thursday morning might have been a quiet period ?

GreenLunchBox · 28/11/2021 15:53

From the horse's mouth: vague symptoms and so sent to hospital as a precaution. Checked over by a consultant within an hour. Must be nice!

I totally agree with you OP. Those disagreeing may wish to consider what would happen if a member of the so called 'royal family' called for an ambulance and whether or not they would be prioritised, elitism is alive and well in the world.

I agree with you OP.
