To buy a gift for key worker

My son has his last day in the baby room tomorrow and will be starting toddlers. I was wondering if I should get his old key worker something to say thank you.
I don't know if that's a done thing and if it is what should I get?

We did, our daughters key worker was amazing

We did and bought her another gift and personalised card when dd left nursery for good. She was the one who finally persuaded dd to walk just before her 3rd birthday so was very special

My DD works in a nursery and she normally gets a present from her babies when they go up into toddlers. Normally just a small minding like a bottle of wine or flowers but it's lovely to know her babies parents appreciate her
