Xmas market haggling

I went to a Xmas Market and saw some nice hand crafted looking scarves, I wanted to buy one for myself and 2 as gifts. So asked for the price: £20 or 2 for £30.

But I wanted 3, so asked if they can sell me 3 for £45. No!! 3 for £50 or 4 for £60.

But I only want 3! I guess in a shop you couldn't get them to adjust their offer for you but I thought markets should be more flexible!

Asked the seller isn't it better to get £45 for 3 scarves than £30 for 2. No!

So I didn't buy any scarves. Pretty surprised but maybe I'm out of touch with how these things work, haha.

Better for you, but she’d already told you it was £50 for 3 scarves, not £45.

I agree with you OP.

£20 for one
£15 each for more than one.

I hope you told them to get knotted Wink
