To try and get Garth Brooks tickets?

IPokeBadgers · 24/11/2021 17:09

So, I been a lifelong fan of the tubby country genius... But have never managed to see him in concert.

Two concerts announced for Dublin in Sept 2022, tickets on sale tomorrow at 8am from Ticket master website. I can afford the ridiculously priced tickets.

Am I wasting my time in even trying as I know they will sell out in minutes?

Anyone have any advice on how to successfully nab a couple of tickets to the biggest show in town?

How could you be unreasonable? Grin if you want to go then try and get them.

Personally I am still sulking with him after I bought tickets for his last croke park visit only for him to get greedy and then throw a hissy because he wasn’t allowed to add umpteen dates when they sold out almost instantly Grin

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 24/11/2021 17:14

Ps I saw him in croke as a child and I was buying the tickets for my parents and sister and I to go again for my dads 60th. Damn greedy Garth Grin

IPokeBadgers · 24/11/2021 17:17

@merryandgerrylivinginderry

I think because I know the chances seem so slim of successfully getting a ticket, seems crazy to even try.... I didn't manage to get tickets for the last Croke effort and on his previous trips to Ireland I was always already either out of the country or sitting important exams....so the stars have never aligned! 😂

I can't imagine how disappointed you must have been in 2014 😢

That would be AMAZING!!

MrsTimRiggins · 24/11/2021 17:19

You would never be unreasonable to try 😍 good luck!!
Also ‘the tubby country genius’ 😂

sillysmiles · 24/11/2021 17:20

Thanks. I thought the tickets were on sale at 9 not 8! I see there is a residents presale at the moment though.

I think he'll add the other nights once these sell out, but it didn't want to announce all 5 nights at once.

Knockoneofftheshelftowin · 24/11/2021 17:20

Do you not have any friends in low places that could put a word in?
Grin

AmyDudley · 24/11/2021 17:23

Haven't you got any Friends in Low Places who could get you a couple of tickets by dodgy means ? Grin

IPokeBadgers · 24/11/2021 17:24

@sillysmiles I do think at least one of the additional dates will be added but there has been so many issues around the Croke concerts, so who knows?

@Knockoneofftheshelftowin no friends in low places I'm afraid! Grin

@IPokeBadgers any idea of prices?

IPokeBadgers · 24/11/2021 17:37

@sillysmiles

Tickets are €65.56 GA and €81 seated plus service charge....which is probably silly money....

From what I can gather, he could actually be doing 5 concerts if there is enough interest. The Dublin city council have given the green light for 5 concerts to go ahead.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 24/11/2021 18:31

He won’t be leaving it to chance this time OP, he’ll know exactly how many dates he will be allowed and will use them all. Demand will be massive. Get in there and try try try.

The price is not that bad really. My DD and I paid over £70 for Taylor Swift tickets several years back. Around 83 euros.

Go for it.

Moneypenny007 · 24/11/2021 18:48

Ed sheeran was 70 odd pounds for Belfast next year. Definitely going to try and get tickets tomorrow if I remember to wake on time

mrsm12 · 24/11/2021 19:02

Definitely don't waste your money.....not that I'm trying to put off the competition or anything!
Had tickets in 2014, will be trying again tomorrow, I'm nearly sure they were much more expensive last time.

IPokeBadgers · 24/11/2021 20:25

Righto, I'll give it a go in the morning and see how it goes....

Assuming the additional dates go ahead as well, when does anyone think they would release those tickets for sale?

Well the planning permission on the stadium doesn't allow this, as he found out before. Not at the descretion of anybody to over rule this, as he found out before. He pleaded to the taoiseach and said he would crawl to Ireland on his knees if needed. But Dublin CC held out, and good on them.
sillysmiles · 25/11/2021 08:18

@IPokeBadgers Any joy?
Logging in and joined the que at 7.45 - when I got through there were over 100K people ahead of me in the que!

I don't get why all the gigs have to be in Dublin. I reckon he'd totally sell out a few nights in Cork or Tipp too

ClareBlue · 25/11/2021 08:51

Definitely. Semple stadium and Pairc Ui Chaoimh would sell out. Only two hotels in Thurles which might be an issue but Cork is perfect. And it's not like they don't need the revenue to pay for the new stadium. Limerick is 50k capacity stadium minutes from motorway. Crazy Dublin centric as usual.

Sweetmayday · 25/11/2021 09:04

Yes Clareblue but Dublin city council have already given permission for 5 this time despite residents objections. There are plans for 7 concerts next year, 2 Ed Sheeran and the possible 5 Garth Brooks. I think it's wrong and can't fathom why he can't play in Cork or Limerick aswell.

TheKeatingFive · 25/11/2021 09:09

Let us know how you got on OP. Grin

sillysmiles · 25/11/2021 09:11

I'm an hour an 10 mins in the q and there are 48K people ahead of me! Shock
Luckily I'm working from home so I can just leave it on one screen!

peppersauce1984 · 25/11/2021 09:17

I got them, great seats! Can't wait
