Agree, bread basket-thingy. They use them in Portugal

GinAndTopic · 24/11/2021 13:12

I've seen things similar to that for putting bread rolls in the pockets, not sure with strings though

girlmom21 · 24/11/2021 13:13

Doilies?

girlmom21 · 24/11/2021 13:14

Oh I just saw the lace pattern, not the rest of it.

LilyRed · 24/11/2021 13:14

Hot roll doily thing. Haven't seen one used since 1960s. The strings are tied in a bow to allow the doily to sit flat and the fabric to form pockets into which rolls are inserted.

This shows you how to make one, near the end she talks about (and demonstrates) what the strings are for.

Bread basket liner?
Definitely. One bread roll in each section.
Newnameforabit · 24/11/2021 15:10

They are to hold bread rolls in a bread basket

DW said, to keep your sanitary products in!
I might get one to artfully arrange long nighttime pads, won’t that look classy! 😂

Seriously, it was an 80s thing I think. Everything was fancy and lacy and curtains looked like Victorian bloomers.
