AIBU to need help with this Maths question?

My maths is useless, can anyone let me know how much a salary of £40k for 37.5 hours would be if I were to cut my hours to 15?

15737.5=40% so 40%of the salary

15/37.5 that should say is 40%

£40 000 x 40%= & 16,000

(40/37.5) x 15 = £16k

But remember your take home would not work on the same calculation as you would still get your personal allowance so a smaller proportion of your pay is subject to tax.
