I have moved the bake off this year its been amazing.

I wanted anyone but crystelle to win. Its beacuse she used one dominant ingredient and it got boring.

I know it's hard work but AIBU for chigs to win Instead of Guissepe (who now no longer lives in the UK).

I thought chigs had more to lose. His showstopper was better

Chigs is my winner.

MrsMoastyToasty · 23/11/2021 23:49

I wanted Giuseppe to win because he used to live locally.

Good result.

Well obviously I would have preferred Jurgen but Giovanni is a worthy winner. Though actually they were all brilliant. Standard so high this year

TonyThreePies · 24/11/2021 00:30

I thought the final would be Giuseppe vs Jurgen and was sad to see Jurgen go last week. So, the best man won in my eyes.

FestiveMayo · 24/11/2021 00:32

(who now no longer lives in the UK) why does this matter?

Fleshmechanic · 24/11/2021 00:42

I stopped watching this year when I found out they literally don't win anything lol. Like no money, nothing special, just a cake stand and some flowers. No wonder they're so nice to each other. I dunno why but it just really turned me off towards the show. Like why bother going through all that and being away from your family quarantining and whatnot, for free.

You're forgetting book deals, media opportunities, Strictly and other celebrity competition invitations etc

Funnily enough we were talking about this recently in more general terms.

DD had seen some post on social media from someone in the States who compared fairly easy quizzes where you could win many 1000s of pounds with really difficult quizzes in the UK like Only Connect and University Challenge where all you won is a firm handshake and some naff trophy. The difficult UK quizzes were preferred.

I guess Bake off is the same in a way. The prize itself is irrelevant. It Is the prestige of getting there and being last man standing

I thought it was a lovely end to the show. So wholesome 😍 I was delighted Giuseppe won. I liked Crystelle but to be honest I didn’t feel she deserved to be in the final over Juergen.

Snoozer11 · 24/11/2021 02:08

I think Jurgen was missed this week.

Surely it's part of the charm of the show that it's all about the achievement, rather than any material gain?

Though saying that, past winners have traditionally done quite well out of it. Look at Nadiya Hussain for instance.

bettys9thleg · 24/11/2021 02:31

The fact they only compete for a cake stand and the title of winner is one of my favourite things about it!
