Random man with pram - verbal abuse

Jumperwoo · 23/11/2021 17:51

Just need to vent really...

Walking home with my baby, it's dark and I want to cross a busy road at a zebra crossing.

Random man coming from the other side with his baby and partner. Says the following to me as we pass on the crossing:

"Say hello [girls name]"
Aggressively to me: "say hello back then"
I didn't reply so he then even more aggressively said: "next time don't look in my baby's face" [it's dark, I can't see the baby, I'm looking to see if it's safe to cross]
And then finally when I was on the other side he yelled "F'ing C" after me.

I'm just annoyed and upset. Pushing a pram means I don't generally get so many random man comments. I'm just so TIRED of this sort of thing. He was out with his family, so why feel the need to yell at me? I just want to go about my business in peace. AIBU?

Jesus his poor partner.

Honestly, it's like most some blokes simply need to be carted off like the animals they are and kindly euthanised for the benefit of society.

Hopefully that will be one more exchange that makes his partner take another step towards eventually leaving him and getting that poor baby away from yet another piss-poor, mindless, aggressive pointless fuckwit of a 'dad'.

Finfintytint · 23/11/2021 17:56

Massive sense of self importance. Ignore the idiot.

tallduckandhandsome · 23/11/2021 17:56

YANBU. He was an utter cunt picking on a woman on her iwn.

Pity his partner and child.

MizzFizz · 23/11/2021 17:57

Some people have no self control. Poor partner and child.

BlusteryLake · 23/11/2021 17:58

In my experience men who think it's acceptable to use that kind of language in front of young children (yes even those too young to understand it) are almost always self-centered and anti-social. He doesn't deserve any of your headspace.

BorisStopOffendingYourBarber · 23/11/2021 17:58

That’s awful OP. YANBU obviously.
Out of interest did his partner say/do anything?
He sounds incredibly aggressive and out of control.

Jumperwoo · 23/11/2021 18:11

Ah thanks everyone - feeling a bit less shaken up now! No his partner didn't do or say anything - but you're all quite right, I hope she and the baby get away from him...

With aggression like that the mother and baby will be lucky to make it out alive. It's things like this that make me wish we could carry tazers to reduce these specimens to snivelling wrecks on the pavement.

Holly60 · 23/11/2021 18:20

Do you think it’s possible the little girl had a facial disfigurement? It’s all I can think of - that he thought you were staring and was feeling defensive? Other than that it seems he is unfortunately insane…

Stuckhere2021 · 23/11/2021 18:22

He is a cunt.

RallySooney · 23/11/2021 18:25

Do you think he may have been on drugs?

PicsInRed · 23/11/2021 18:28

He sounds absoutely mad - a grenade of a man.

Thank your lucky stars he isn't father of your child. As a PP rightly observed, they'll be lucky to make it out of that situation alive.

FestiveMayo · 23/11/2021 18:45

Oh that sounds awful!! What a nasty man

ClemDanFango · 23/11/2021 18:50

Arrogant prick thinks the world owes him no doubt. What a cunt.

NeverTheHootenanny · 23/11/2021 18:53

Jeez, what a horrible man.

I really fear for his partner and child. If that’s the level of aggression he aims at a total stranger, imagine how he treats his family.

ScrambledSmegs · 23/11/2021 18:57

He sounds terrifying- if he can do that when out in public to a complete stranger, imagine what he's capable of behind closed doors.

I'm so sorry OP, it must have been an awful experience and I'm not surprised you're upset.

JamAutistically · 23/11/2021 19:21

That sounds really odd. Confused

Either on drugs, drunk, mentally ill or like someone said, defensive about something you can't see. It's just such a bizarre exchange, if you'd even call it one, to pick on a random person like that, even if he's an abusive man.

Never understood this sentiment. People like this clearly have no concept of social acceptability why would they act any different behind closed doors?

Prettypennies · 23/11/2021 19:54

What a disgusting man. Sounds like nothing you would say or do would be ‘right’ to him. Let’s hope this is the last straw for that poor woman.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 23/11/2021 19:57

Feel really sorry for his partner and child!

Yes, your not unreasonable for feeling shaken up and being sick of this sort of thing, but be really glad you don’t live with him!

Some people are just cunts
JamieNorthlife · 23/11/2021 20:38

What an aggressive man. Must be that Hexadecanal situation....

ThreeLocusts · 23/11/2021 20:46

Sounds like he used the baby he was pushing around as an excuse to harass you. As others have said, quite the c**t. I hope you shake the experience off quickly.

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/11/2021 21:01

Poor you and poor kids and poor woman.

I know plenty of drunk, high, traumatised men who don't act like that. He's a count as PPs have said.

If I'm feeling brave I smile at the women in cases like this. Not sure I would if DD was with me.

Simply because someone in the pub would knock his teeth in.
