To ask if you have a 15yo son, can you please help me?

Taking part in one of those Christmas gift donation appeals and when I went to pick up a ticket there were only teenage boys left which made me feel sad and like everyone leaves them until last as they don’t know what to buy. Which has made me want to get something really good for the 15yo boy whose ticket I picked up. So, if you have a 15yo son, could you give me some ideas of presents I could buy (nothing extortionate!), bearing in mind I know literally nothing else about him?

Good for you- I do think teen boys get a bit overlooked because they're not cute like younger ones but they're still kids and need a treat.

A few ideas-

  • football and pump
  • Lynx gift set
  • Nike water bottle
  • Cologne eg Tommy Now
  • Moon ball
  • Graphic markers and pad
  • Lego architecture set
  • Gift card for costa/Nandos
  • Beanie

Power bank.
Pens. He loves muji pens.
Chocolate. All the chocolate.

Gloves that work with phones.
Earphones.
Warm socks.
Weird dice with a million different sides.

StrictlySinging · 22/11/2021 16:17

Cool winter sunglasses (ski style)
Mobile phone friendly gloves
Cinema voucher for 2

CMOTDibbler · 22/11/2021 16:17

You really can't go wrong with a Lynx gift set or a Costa/Starbucks gift card

MrsMadderRose · 22/11/2021 16:18

Screen gloves with fingertips that work on your phone
H&M heavyweight cotton t-shirts - DS likes these
Beanie hat with torch built in, or with headphones built in
Thick cosy socks
Facial scrub
Pens –multipack of Uniball Eye or similar

Brian9600 · 22/11/2021 16:19

I would be wary of buying anything that relies on him having any tech, even a phone.

Santaischeckinglists · 22/11/2021 16:22

Nike T shirt..
Was a requested item for the teenage boy I bought for in our town collection last year.

littlefireseverywhere · 22/11/2021 16:24

Yes,

Branded sports socks - Adidas, Nike
T-shirt branded sports
Powerbank
Sweets
Chocolate
Razor & shaving gel- nice set
Rucksack black branded
Jelly beans

SophieKat1982 · 22/11/2021 16:26

Joggers, sweatshirt, cosy socks, lava lamp or colourful led light string (you can buy them that stick around a bedroom).

Arethechildreninbedyet · 22/11/2021 16:30

Something physical for him he couldn’t otherwise afford but other kids would probably completely take for granted. At this age things like that are so important.

A set of branded sports socks? Preferably nike?
A beanie? North face or nike?
A cheaper pair of branded joggers(nike/Adidas etc) if you know the size?
A bottle of aftershave?
A lynx or a branded body wash set? I’ve bought Diesel only the brave for a nephew and he stunk to high heaven of it every time I saw him for the next few months!
Nike gloves?
A branded back pack?
Perhaps a Starbucks or Costa gift card? Do McDonald’s/five guys/burger king/kfc do one? Perhaps there’s a boyfriend/girlfriend/siblings they’d like to treat?

Iooselipssinkships · 22/11/2021 16:31

Smart watch.
Wireless Headphones.

For both they have some cheap but really decent ones on Amazon.

DameAlyson · 22/11/2021 16:31

I would be wary of buying anything that relies on him having any tech, even a phone.

Or any clothing, unless you know the size. Mid-teen boys can vary hugely.

Graphic novels? Something a reluctant reader might like.

ikeptgoing · 22/11/2021 16:35

Leather bracelets, they are all the rage with 15-20 boys/ men. These are £8.99 for 6 lovely ones, and similar yo those I bought my 19 year old rugby playing son (who said best present that year from anyone) . It's currently 'sick' (or whatever the word for cool now is 🤣) to wear 3 on each wrist

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 22/11/2021 16:35

My 15 year old would not want branded socks/boxers/clothes.
He also wouldn't want Lynx sets. They get bought them by all the Grandparents every year and have about 10 in the cupboard still.
He doesn't like Starbucks so wouldn't go there. (Moral objection)
He hates football so won't want that either.

He would love Lego. Or lego. Or even lego. Nice art stuff, or books/book voucher.

However. I'm aware my teens are very much not typical.

I think you baby go far wrong with nice hot chocolate stuff, maybe some sweets but make sure they are vegetarian (also covers halal). Playing cards abs rubiks cubes are also popular here.

Trampoline11 · 22/11/2021 16:36

My DS had a lovely Lynx gift set last week. Two Lynx products and a pair of pure cotton socks. They came in a really nice presentation box.

dementedpixie · 22/11/2021 16:36

My ds wouldn't use a lynx set; would be happier with sure or Dove
A wallet
A tub of heroes
Amazon gift card

dementedpixie · 22/11/2021 16:38

And yeah my ds doesn't care about brands and would wear a tshirt from tesco as long as it was dark coloured and had no logos or pictures on it
Socks/boxers would be black

PreparationPreparationPrep · 22/11/2021 16:40

Nice Hoodie - plain H&M have nice colours reasonable price.
Headphones -
Water bottle
Gloves
Dumbbells
Slipper socks
Men's shower gel kit with sponge.
Sports t shirts logos - bike/ football / basketball/'tennis - eBay has some fun designs.

Passthebubbly · 22/11/2021 16:40

I have a 14 year old and he loves his led lights he can use in his room, inexpensive and they can use wherever they want. Also agree with above alternatively a nice black rucksack for school (some sweets inside for extra love)

QueenofLouisiana · 22/11/2021 16:42

Branded water bottle (the ones that keep drinks cold)
Chocolate- large bars, not fancy.
Pringles.
Beanie hat.
Pop heads.
Lego surprise bags.
Manga books- check content some are very sexual! Assassination Classroom might be ok.

elliejjtiny · 22/11/2021 16:42

I've got a 15 year-old son. He loves lego, lynx smellies, chocolate/sweets etc, puzzles like rubiks cube.
