AIBU for starting Skip Parking wars

So, next door is being done up before new tennants arrive. So we've had numerous different tradesman in, all assuming that they can park in the private parking spaces in front of the houses. These parking spaces we have to rent out, and next door has no rented space. So numerous times in the last few weeks I or a neighbout have had to knock and explain to the tradesman (again) that they cannot use the private rented spaces and need to park on road,
So I'm already a bit aggravated.
Then I get a call from my neighbour to say now they've put a SKIP in my parking space.
AIBU to launch
Skip Parking War ?

Call the skip company now and tell them they need to remove it as they have been given the wrong information and that if they don't you will take to social media, the police and anyone else you can think of!

YANBU, although I cannot see the diagram Grin

Ring skip company and ask them to remove immediately.

refusetobeasheep · 22/11/2021 14:54

I'm currently at work, but asked my neighbour to send a photo of the skip with Company number on so I can call.

OK, got the Skip Company number and have called. They are calling the builder ...
Meanwhile I will launch a second front and contact the Housing association who own next door to also request them to deal ...

You need a bollard and a sign saying "space for number 12 only" etc. Otherwise I'd consider it fair game for parking too. The skip is inexcusable though.

Diagram?

Builder suggested I parked on the road outside for a few days. I suggested he and the Skip Company decide between them who would therefore be taking liability if my car got damaged as the insurance states it is parked off the main road overnight. They decided no-one wanted that liability. Skip has just been moved :)
A very short war.

Disappointing Grin. Was settling in for a skip war, not even a skirmish...

BruceAndNosh · 22/11/2021 16:58

I would have filled the skip that WAS ON MY SPACE with all my crap first.
THEN called the skip company... Grin

BonesInTheOcean · 22/11/2021 20:43

oh, i was settling in for a nice long read... with angst and bastard trademen.... and what you have sorted it like fucking adults!

I am seriously!! disappointed in you

MassiveHoard · 22/11/2021 20:46

Not even a hint of having to park someone in and leave a note to say you've gone in holiday and will be back to one your car in a fortnight. How very civilised.

Agree with bones in the Ocean

MrsSkylerWhite · 22/11/2021 20:48

On your private, paid for parking? I’d be out there now filling it with our accumulated lockdown crap.

loudbatperson · 22/11/2021 20:49

I would get some sort of bollard/signage set up now before the renovations complete and tenants move in. This may only be the start of the parking issues.
