To think this is getting ridiculous

So many threads are getting zapped recently.

We need to be able to debate and exchange points of view. I’m not going to reference any specific thread, and anyway there have been so many in the last few days. But we’re in period of huge societal change where our collective understandings of “other” and “different” are shifting. Not being able to debate through these difficult topics is not doing anyone any favours.

There are always people who come on just to be offensive but I’m sure there were others reading through the posts and learning something? If we keep closing threads because there are offensive views how can anyone ever hope to challenge or educate?

We really need to listen to each other.

I completely agree. SM and keyboard warriorism is killing the art of conversation and debate.

I don't understand why the husband who wants to move 300 miles away thread is gone.
When you spend time writing out thoughtful posts to a posters problem its annoying and just encourages people to only ever give one liners

Whilst I understand if MNHQ get reports of multiple posts needing checking/removing on a thread then it becomes time consuming so easier to delete the whole thread, there does seem to be a trend lately of zapping threads just because people are offering different views and OP doesn't like it.

Seems to be we can't offer a different opinion lately without being told off in one way or another!
