.... to not help DH get our DD's ready to leave the house and go shopping for my present?

. I'm sitting here on Mumsnet, ignoring the chaos around me, whilst DH shouts and threatens and the DD's twirl around in their pants and stare into space, as they do most mornings whilst I am trying to get them to school. I just want DH to understand what it is like and why I get so stressed at times.

One of them was dressed earlier, she has now decided she didn't like that outfit, so has reappeared downstairs completely naked except for a xmas hat . DH is bursting a blood vessel, hee hee.

I think I would hide in the bathroom. On the other hand, the quicker they get ready and out, the quicker you get some peace

mistletoepeaks · 15/12/2007 09:38

Ace!!! NBU. Wish I had the balls to do it to my DH without caving in.

saltirehangingonachristmastree · 15/12/2007 09:44

Are they away yet?

sandyballs · 15/12/2007 09:47

They've gone . I don't think DD2 had any socks on under her boots, but hey ho. Dh did say to me 'Are they like this every morning, it really isn't normal' .

I don't think he liked the fact that I asked him to buy the teachers presents as well as mine. Well I have bought everyone elses, including his family. I wonder what he'll come back with.

PMSL @ naked except for xmas hat

my dh has taken my two dd's out lots of bribery and threats was going on whilst he was getting them ready. I really should be wrapping his pressies up while he is out but browsing here and eating muffins is far more fun

runnyhabbit · 15/12/2007 14:01

lol

dh has just taken ds1 out for my christmas pressies. (ds2 sleeping in my arms)

went through the same thing apart from getting dressed

dh's last words before leaving "its like a military operation"

welcome to my world

yanbu

rosmincepieeater · 15/12/2007 14:06

lol

I do feel a bit cheated though as ds always behaves for dh and they can get out of the house in under 30mins! Dh never believes me now when I tell him how long it took to get out!

At least your dh takes the kids shopping with him, mine wouldn't dream of it .

lizziemun · 15/12/2007 19:56

I would say yes you are being unreasonable.

But that would be because i have bought my own presents and wrapped them.

Am loving "twirl around in their pants and stare into space". Do all DDs do this? Thought it was just mine.

sandyballs · 15/12/2007 21:14

Oh to be 6 again, twirling in our pants and staring into space .

It seems to have been a successful shopping trip, as one of my DD's said 'Mum you're going to love your new jeans and top' .
