Hi,
I went to a family party over this weekend. My niece has a four month old baby girl. I asked if I could hold her and she said yes.
Baby girl didn’t like the idea so I had to quickly pass her back to her Mum.
It later occurred to me that I didn’t see anyone else holding the baby and I’m now wondering if it was wrong of me to ask? I hate to think I’ve overstepped the mark.

Why would it be wrong to ask

TheVolturi · 21/11/2021 20:40

You're her aunt. Why would it be wrong to want to hold her baby? She could have said no. Don't worry.

Going by some of the threads on here YOU SHOULDN'T MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH ANY CHILD, FAMILY OR NOT😜😜😜
I don't think you did anything wrong. Definitely nothing wrong with asking to hold her.

Thank you for your replies, all.
I didn’t think it was out of order. We’re not particularly close but I just sensed that it wasn’t appreciated? Maybe it was me just overthinking.
Thanks again. You’ve made me feel ok about it now! 😘
