Coincidence ....ex's best friend popping up on new boyfriends "people you may know"

Today just sitting with new boyfriend and the first person on his "people you may know " is my ex's best friend.

Now he is on my Fb but we never interact.
We live in different cities and out of 1000 people on my FB he was the only one on his people you may know.

Now ive been tagging my new bf in things
Could it be he has been having a snoop on my new guy?
Or is it just one of facebooks weird connections.

If you have friends in common, they start popping up. I don't think it's anything sinister

My old boss popped up on my husbands people you may know. Both accounts are private and I don’t have my workplace listed.

My DH’s ex and SIL often pop up on people you may know. We've been together for 14.5 years so I find it amazingly pathetic.

Yeah, Facebook doesn’t work like that.

It uses friends in common, networks in common, tagged photos and contacts - if you’ve got your mobile number as part of your profile info (even if it’s hidden) and you’ve got your ex’s mobile and your current boyfriends mobile as part of your contacts it’ll suggest that they might know each other because Facebook knows they both know you.

If Facebook wanted you to be able to see profile views they would make it a feature not leave people guessing from who turns up in people you may know

I'm sure that if you check someone's profile that happens, so basically FB drops you right in it if you're stalking someone
