Hi, I just went through a previous thread. 1'm pregnant for the 2nd time, 1st was a miscarriage. I am on my 5th week. Started with spotting now slight bleeding. I have been given medication (progesterone) however it continues. I had experienced the same in my previous pregnancy and misscaried in 3rd month due to which I had to go through a D&C. I fear it's the same now and would like to know if anyone experienced this please. If I have to go through a D&C again, is it harmful for me?

I don't have any advice on the D&G, but I bled every day for 6 weeks in my first trimester, had it a variety colours, amounts, consistencies and I went on to have a full term pregnancy.

It's a scary time, but just take some time to look after yourself. One thing I found was that mine was brought on by being active. My job involved walking many miles and I worked Monday-Friday. I would find that by Sunday my bleeding would seem like it was getting better, but after Monday it would get worse. I spoke to the nurse in the hospital during one of my admissions and they said walking wouldn't have an effect. After a while though I decided to take a week off work to give my body some time to heal, and my bleeding got much better.

Might not be the same thing for you, but you know your body, do what you think is right

I was bleeding in my second pregnancy. I was Rhesus negative so was given anti D. I actually went on to bleed throughout pregnancy but was fine in the end
If you have a history of miscarriages and you are worried I would seek help

I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks. The second pregnancy I started to bleed at about 4 weeks, it got as heavy as a moderate heavy period, and then off and on for a few weeks. The pregnancy went full term.

If you have had a past miscarriage you might be able to access the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital and get a very early scan? This is what they did for me.

Hope it all goes well.

I had 1 miscarriage and then bleeding at start of second pregnancy. Assumed another miscarriage but it went on to a normal full term pregnancy. It was spotting off and on (some heavy) and when I wiped. I was scared to wipe and check in case I saw blood. But eventually after 8 weeks or so it stopped. I was Rh negative as well but didn’t know at time (first baby), Didn’t need a D&C so cant give any advice on that, sorry but hope everything goes well for future.

Meant to say, as I had a previous miscarriage and thought I was past 6 weeks, I got a scan at the early pregnancy unit. Went to my dr and they did the referral xxx

After two miscarriage I bled on and off (but more on) for the first four months. I was convinced I was going to miscarry. The early pregnancy unit wouldn't give me an appointment as they said if I was miscarrying there's nothing they could do anyway. I called my gp and he got me an appointment with them at around 12 weeks. It was all fine and they never did find the cause of the bleeding.

Also, if you can afford you could have s scan privately.

I think early bleeding is fairly common but if your bleeding increases or you start passing big clots that's probably a sign of a miscarriage.

I am not sure about the d n c but I assume that a second one as such isn't a Problem.

Hope it all goes well for you. Fingers crossed.
