So, I've seen SO many MILs posts on here, I've written a few myself about my own interfering with me raising my DS.

I think it would be really helpful for me to know how it feels to be a new grandmother, watching your child raise their child. Is it hard? If so, why? What does it feel like? What exactly bothers you?

I want to have a better understanding, so that I can have more compassion for my own MIL.

I'm an MIL with a much adored grandchild. Obviously some things have changed since I had young children so many of my experiences are irrelevant. My only criticism is my DS and DDIL could maybe make their lives a little easier if they were more consistent. I keep that to myself though and only give advice if asked and even then I try to support what they are trying to do instead of criticising them. Thing is my grandchild is absolutely perfect so they can't be doing much wrong.

My MIL used to ring my DH up and grumble if I annoyed her and 30 years on I'm still irritated by it, so I'm very respectful of my DDIL and she's lovely so I know I'm very lucky.
