To be worried about this?

Tonight I was driving on a dark rural road, and a car going in the other direction clipped my wing mirror. It folded in and didn't break, doesn't appear to be damage.

I was scared to stop to check other car due to the darkness and remote location, however I believe the other car drove off anyway.

I have reported the incident on the local police website, just to put on record that I have reported it. But I am still worried. Do I need to be concerned?

Notimeforaname · 18/11/2021 20:58

Forget it

I suppose that I could be in trouble for not stopping, or if I did something wrong?

Why would the police care about this sorry?

Ignore the other responses- no matter how small the incident or damage it's bound to spark a reaction - possibly a little shock to the noise, wonder what's happened, wonder if it was done on purpose etc. That's natural and hopefully you can calm down and realise it's just one of those things.
Police probably won't care- not urgent, not really destructive or dangerous , insurance also will not care, probably use it as an excuse to put up your premium.
There are scams- sometimes europe where other vehicles cause damage to another so they pull over to check their vehicle and...maybe they use this as an opportunity...it's good that this isn't one of those times.
Call it a bad day and move on.
