To replace my 10yr old GHD with Cloud9 for no reason?

I have semi-Afro hair (mixed race). Its hard to explain, but it doesn't hold curls as nicely as Afro hair does. I straighten it twice a week.

My GHD is 10 yrs old and it works fine. But I'm tempted to buy those Cloud9s everyone is raving about. Are they better ? Faster?
Or is it totally pointless (and irresponsible) to replace a working product?

I replaced my GHDs with Cloud 9 and wish I had stuck with GHD. They were the old school ones though so can't really comment on the newer ones.

My Cloud9's were shite. I soon went back to GHD.

It's irresponsible from an environmental perspective to get rid of a working item that does the job to a standard you are satisfied with.

I am not sure if my GHD is as efficient as before...

I am mixed too. I have coarse hair...not quite fully afro but very coily. My cloud 9's are fabulous. I love the adjustable temperature too. I wouldn't go back go GHD now.

I had cloud9s and went back to GHD. GHD and definitely superior

(Thick curly south Asian hair here)

Had my hair done today for the first time in six months. She curled it with cloud 9, wow they are so amazing and such smooth plates. Have to be better for your hair too and the curl has stayed in so well.
