I cooked a delicious roast chicken dinner last night - rotisserie style chicken, sage and onion stuffing, roast potatoes, marrowfat peas, maple roast parsnips, glazed carrots and gravy.

Teen dd had McDonalds after school and turned her nose up it it.

I have just made a fresh white bread, real butter sandwich out of her dinner and it is DELICIOUS!

The only thing I am missing is cranberry sauce because we don't have any.

God it's good! Silly teen doesn't know what she's missing!

My sandwich has: roast chicken breast, stuffing, marrowfat peas, smashed up roast potato and lot of SALT

Oooh that sounds delicious, I could just eat that!

Rubadubdub21 · 17/11/2021 12:29

Pictures or it didn't happen Grin

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 17/11/2021 12:32

What are marrowfat peas?

UniBallEye · 17/11/2021 12:33

@Rubadubdub21 - it's gone! Sorry. I'm working from home and had an early start and no break since and I literally wolfed it down.

I normally would only have had the chicken and stuffing, but it was all there on the plate looking at me and I can say with certainty, that I thoroughly recommend it!

I'm making a hotel chocolat velevtizer milk choc 50% hot chocolate now....no wonder all my clothes are tight Hmm Grin

Why would this be unreasonable? Confused

UniBallEye · 17/11/2021 12:36

@loveisagirlnameddaisy - you've never heard of marrowfat peas?? You haven't LIVED Smile

This sounds bloody amazing, although I'd add some cheese and put it in a frying pan to grill as well.

WhatHoMarjorie · 17/11/2021 12:37

I'd remove the marrowfat peas and add some mayonnaise. But YANBU, leftover roast chicken dinner makes the best sandwich.

UniBallEye · 17/11/2021 12:37

@PurpleDaisies because I ate a full plate of dinner which potentially could have been dd's dinner this evening...

And it is a bit greedy to shove all that between 2 slices of bread and shovel it in as quickly as I could

some excellent suggestions for next time!

Of course YANBU:
A) Roast with trimmings sandwiches are delicious.
B) One of the joys of being an adult is eating whatever you'd like, in whichever combination you fancy.

Sapphire387 · 17/11/2021 12:52

Jealous. I just had a Pret Christmas sandwich and it was good but yours was clearly superior.

LadyZoom · 17/11/2021 13:06

Leftover Christmas dinner bubble and squeak is my fave, can work for other things too.

Put everything, turkey, stuffing pigs in blankets, veg, roasties in the blender with gravy. Make patties and fry off. I'd eat them hot or cold.

Your sandwich sounds delish though, she says looking at a bowl of veg soup and saintly brown bread. LOL.

WishICouldButIDontWantTo · 17/11/2021 13:10

That dinner sounds AMAZING! Good for you using leftovers for lunch.
I have major food envy just reading about it!

diddl · 17/11/2021 13:22

I would probably have had it reheated I think rather than in bread.

Have only ever marrowfat peas as mushy peas!

mogsrus · 17/11/2021 13:27

Rather have that than nauseating mds anyday, your right, she has no idea what she is missing

Fatgalslim · 17/11/2021 14:00

I love marrowfat peas. I probably would have had a small pot of gravy for dunking though

AppleBottomedJeans · 17/11/2021 14:05

I just had this!!!! But mine was beef and in a roll which is king obvs. here you go
