To be suspicious of Klarna

I haven't got a Klarna account

About 2 years ago someone tried to set one up using my name and address but I had a notification regarding it so rang them and cancelled it.

I now have 4 x £1 charges on my credit card for Klarna. No idea where this has come from. Have stopped the card but presume this is a scam /fraud ?

Anyone else had this?

Small £1 charges can be a symptom that someone has the card details and is testing them out to check they work before going on a spending spree. Talking to yoir CC issuer is very important - did you specifically tell them you suspect a fraud is going on or did you just stop the card without saying why? If its the latter then talk to them asap.

I have used Klarna legitimately to spread the payments for a purchase and it all worked perfectly. If you have reasonably good cash flow and can manage the repayments without overcommitting then it's great.

@SinoohXaenaHide Thank you for this
I did tell them I was concerned about fraud as none of these had come via me and they suggested locking it and sending a new one so hopefully OK
