Covid has given me wrinkles

Now bear with me, I haven't actually had Covid (goodness knows how, I've worked in a care home and a hospital throughout the whole thing but I'm obviously very lucky)

I'm early forties so was expecting wrinklage to some degree but it's madly accelerated in the last year and my forehead in particular resembles an ordnance survey map of a particularly hilly region. It's fine, I don't really care but AIBU to think this might be down to wearing a mask at work all day? I'm now full time in a front line NHS role and I have to convey so much through facial expression above the cheeks - from sadness, reassurance and empathy to hilarity and everything in between.

Anyone else experiencing this?

(I'm not complaining about anything btw, I'm just bored and wondering if I'm being weird)

You might have a point op...i ha e similar...on the plus side a mask hides my saggy jaw etc!

I wear a mask for work too, often find myself walking about with my mouth open to change its position, not just to shift it but to keep it there. No idea why! I reckon that’ll give me wrinkles

I forget that although someone can't see me muttering beneath the mask, they can hear me! Only realised today after a 'ffs'. Bloody masks.

My face seems like it has collapsed. The extra lockdown stone hasn’t helped either, obvs. Seriously considering a bit of Botox.

Kanaloa · 14/11/2021 23:58

Not wrinkles but every since Covid I have continual breakouts in the mask area, especially around my mouth. I change my mask and use a clean one as much as possible but it doesn’t help particularly. My 10yo has the same issue of patchy skin around the mouth (although DH and other kids don’t!).

They are annoying. I don’t think anyone will be sad to see the back of them (hopefully) in the future!

😂 I have taken to mouthing the words to songs as I walk round the supermarket and I’m worried I won’t be able to shake it.

Yes! Frown lines! The Ordinary Argireline seems to be helping a bit. Considering next steps.
