Newly pregnant - is this pain normal :(

I am 5+5 and for the past few days I've had a dull pain really low in my stomach.
It goes away for a little while but it's normally usually always there in the background - not super painful, but I'm always aware of it.

Do you think this is a bad sign? I'm so scared.

Completely normal

Greenmarmalade · 13/11/2021 19:38

Could be implantation.

Doggydreaming · 13/11/2021 19:40

It's normal. It sounds like your ligaments are stretching.

Meatshake · 13/11/2021 19:41

Yeh totally normal. I had period style cramps for the first month with both my pregnancies. Your body is doing a lot of stuff right now.

Fernando072020 · 13/11/2021 19:41

The pain you're describing is likely your uterus growing. I had dull she's on and off throughout the whole pregnancy. Try not worry so long as there's no awful cramping combined with red blood

And congratulations 😃

Sounds like implantation pain. Ive had it with all my pregnancies.(3) currently pregnant. I lost first baby through miscarriage but I knew something was wrong as the pain was very intense and constant before the bleeding started. With my 2nd and current pregnancy the pain was on and off and I found resting as much as possible for a week or so helped a lot and then it stopped.
Congratulations OP!

Completely normal. You get all kind of weird aches and pains while you’re pregnant.

Shinytaps · 13/11/2021 19:45

I had this with my first but not subsequent pregnancies. I think it’s your body adjusting. Please try not to worry too much (very difficult I know).

LibrariesGiveUsPower45321 · 13/11/2021 19:47

Normal, I had it in first pregnancy.

furbabymama87 · 13/11/2021 19:48

Mild aches, pains and discomfort can be normal. If you're in a lot of pain to the point you need painkillers then no that's not normal.

quitecrunchy · 13/11/2021 19:58

Yep normal. I had period pain type sensations for the first few weeks of my first pregnancy. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

ShowOfHands · 13/11/2021 20:01

It can be entirely normal.

I had it and it was nothing in one pregnancy but I've also had it in a subsequent pregnancy and it was a rumbling UTI. I didn't realise until it ramped up a bit and I had more symptoms.

If it becomes persistent and more uncomfortable, I'd ask to be seen.

Thanks everyone! I feel a bit better reading these.

Very common.

If it's any consolation I had 3 miscarriages and only had cramping with one. The other two I just had spotting.

Allywill · 13/11/2021 20:19

I had this exactly as you describe. I was panicking as I had previously had a miscarriage. Went to doctor in tears - she felt my abdomen and said just as others had said above it was ligaments stretching. It was all fine and I went on to have a perfect little girl (who is now 25!) Also when I actually was having a miscarriage I had no pain at all. Good luck and try to relax x

LaLaDe · 13/11/2021 20:23

Thank you both.

Yes, I had a MC a few months back, so every little thing is making me nervous. Thanks for the kind words!

I had terrible pains early on with my first. It's the uterus stretching. I didn't notice any with my second.

BlueSuffragette · 13/11/2021 20:30

Best wishes to you OP xx
