Or have I lost my sense of humour?

Dh saw something on one of his social medias that is basically a prank.

So you pay £5 to have an empty envelope delivered to someone, but the envelope is bright pink and has like pantysniffer printed all over it as if it is a delivery of used underwear. It's sent signed for delivery so essentially is meant to humiliate the recipient and probably the postie too.

So he's laughing like a little kid at the thought of this and I just don't really get it. I started work up upstairs and he came in before to tell me the hilarious news that he bought it for his friend - he literally couldn't breathe for laughing.

He then told me I was boring and I've lost my sense of humour. I just said I've grown up. He's mid 30s for context.

So am I boring? Is this actually funny?

I thought you were going to say your DS was 12!
It's gross. But I'm probably your age, OP.

Winterwonder5 · 13/11/2021 11:21

If this was a 12 year old boy I would totally get why he'd think it was hilarious.

Unfortunately it's my mid 30s husband, I'm early 30s Blush

No i dont find things like that funny.

vodkaredbullgirl · 13/11/2021 11:25

Not funny at all.

Starcaller · 13/11/2021 11:26

I mean, it's okay to find different things funny or have different humour styles with different people. Presumably he wouldn't send it to you because you don't share that sense of humour, but him and his friend might?

So no, I probably wouldn't find it that amusing but if it was the kind of thing that he and his friend do to each other then I would understand why he did!

BlancheB · 13/11/2021 11:27

He's mid-thirties Shockugh cringeworthy thing to do. How immature of him. It's not you.

Babyvenusplant · 13/11/2021 11:30

Not ALL men, but some men find childish stuff really funny, they don't grow up

cowburp · 13/11/2021 11:33

Not really funny. The postie probably won't even care they are a bit busy to notice these things. Waste of £5.

Daenerys77 · 13/11/2021 11:51

I don't think it's remotely funny, but it's possible that your husband and his friend share a very childish sense of humour and the friend will enjoy the 'joke'. If not, your husband is a dick. I don't suppose the postman will turn a hair, they are probably used to this sort of nonsense.

Inthewainscoting · 13/11/2021 11:56

It's not the most mature and sophisticated sense of humour! But it's harmless. I think you're allowed an eye roll though :)

LittleDandelionClock · 13/11/2021 11:59

YANBU @Winterwonder5. This is fucking pathetic. Some men do find some totally stupid and unfunny stuff funny though. DH will be clutching his sides, with tears rolling down his cheeks, at jokes his mate sends him on whatsapp, and when I read them, I'm like Confused DH says I have no sense of humour because I don't find his mate's stupid (sometimes very poor taste) jokes funny.

Winterwonder5 · 13/11/2021 12:00

His friend does have a crude sense of humour but I think even he would be like wtf. Especially as he lives with his gf and his two ds's could be with him depending when it arrives.

It was more that he made me feel like I was the issue and having some sort of humour failure. Glad it's not just me!

I’m convinced that men and women often have different senses of humour. I can remember DB and his mates thinking it was hilarious to order free tampax starter kits and getting them sent to their mates when they were in their teens. They obviously found it funny.

This is exactly it. Same with some sketch shows or comedians.

Has any woman ever found Little Britain funny? Or Vic and Bob? All lads humour is my opinion.

SolasAnla · 13/11/2021 12:10

I would guess that nothing gross (or not) which can be sent by post has not at some stage been sent by post.
Watched a program last night in the US you could post your child to Grandma or Granda and the Postie would deliver them!!
So the Postie is probably relieved it's just pink printed paper.

Sorry but....😮 I suggest you ANBU to make sure that hubby is not laundering your personal items😮😳!!

Seriously, its sexist, but you know him best so will know why he found it funny.

statetrooperstacey · 13/11/2021 12:11

These are very common, in fact so common they don’t raise an eyebrow anymore. They have a bit of Lacey stuff sticking out the envelope. Tell your husband he’s a bit late to the party . Postie doesn’t give a shit they’re too busy trying to deliver all the sex toys in ‘ discreet packaging’ ( they know what they are) and they don’t care about them either . Let him crack on .

honeylulu · 13/11/2021 12:50

I have quite an immature and crude sense of humour but no I don't think that's funny.

TheCreamCaker · 13/11/2021 13:59

A man in his 30s Grin.

SameToo · 13/11/2021 14:03

It’s not funny and also implausible. A company who did actually post out knickers would use discrete packing otherwise they’d have no customers. So stupid on all levels.

Cherrysoup · 13/11/2021 14:04

I’d be incredibly disappointed if my dh did this. So immature.

PleasantFucker · 13/11/2021 14:08

he literally couldn't breathe for laughing.
This made me laugh more than the actual joke, dunno whyHalloween Grin

Robin233 · 13/11/2021 14:14

I was in total agreement with you - gross. So I asked my dh what he thought - some what older than mid thirties. After a moment he decided it was quite funny, AND began to wonder who he could send one to???
BUT when suggested his boss , we both cracked up Grin
(Disclaimer- he won't really send one)

SoniaFouler · 13/11/2021 14:20

I’d be laughing more at anyone stupid enough to pay a fiver for an envelope

kitkatsky · 13/11/2021 14:21

I wonder if you're married to my ex 😬 It's not funny though

Theunamedcat · 13/11/2021 14:24

Send him one make sure its delivered when he is in make him sign for it

Then laugh
