DS unpleasant experience today

DS13 had in service day today. He popped to the shops for me, and on way back was approached by 2 kids he recognised from school. They pulled their hoods up, asked him for money, he said no and carried on walking home. He told me what happened immediately, but has got increasingly worried about it over the day to the point he now wants to move schools... The way he describes it it sounds like bored kids picking on random passers by but clearly he felt quite threatened. Not sure what best thing to do is.

If you know who the kids are, tell the school?

Pottedpalm · 12/11/2021 22:11

Why the school ? It’s not their problem. Tell the police.

Eltonsglasses · 12/11/2021 22:19

He wasn't a random passer by though? He is from their school.

AutumnLeaves21 · 12/11/2021 22:29

Did they ask him for money? Or threaten him, demand money, etc? Honestly this sound like a storm in a teacup. The police won’t give a shit. Comfort your son and help him work on his resilience.

TurnUpTurnip · 12/11/2021 23:04

Move school because some kids asked him for money? He said no and they left it not like they attacked him, can’t believe someone suggested the police 😂😂 people are always asking me in the street if i have an spare change 🤦🏻

TurnUpTurnip · 12/11/2021 23:05

And yes the police won’t do anything please don’t embarrass yourself

Spiceup · 12/11/2021 23:07

I'd say either there's something else going on at school and this is a story or today's events aren't quite as he's told them.

TurnUpTurnip · 12/11/2021 23:09

Any*

Ozanj · 12/11/2021 23:20

There must be more to it. Take it seriously and contact the school. I bet it’s gang related

GreyhoundG1rl · 12/11/2021 23:26

Did they ask or demand with menaces? It sounds like they accepted his "No" without complaint so it seems to have been massively blown out of proportion by both of you?
