Is it weird to follow a guy from my volunteering on Instagram if you have no mutual friends etc? Looks a bit stalkerish doesn’t it?

Did you find him by searching his name? Do you have each other's phone number? Do you talk lots at volunteering?

It depends! If you're friends, talk lots / have swapped numbers etc it's not weird. If it's someone you've never spoken to, haven't exchanged details (names etc) and you've just found him then yes it's a bit weird!

It's not random if you know him!

Based on the volunteering you do is it appropriate?

I don't think it's weird, u less your making it be weird! Why don't you say hello to him and break the ice.

I never understand these questions about whether looking at someone's SM is stalker behaviour.
Isn't the whole point of them to have people looking at them?
Personally I don't have them, and when I did I used the privacy settings, but if something is open to the public, looking at it can't be stalking....can it?

If he's a fellow volunteer then I think it's fine. You could always mention to him beforehand. Hey, I notice you're on IG, do you mind if I follow you?

If you, for example, you work with vulnerable children and you want to follow one on OG, then it's hugely inappropriate.

Do you talk to him? It would be quite normal in some circs to add the socials of people you know. However if you just know of him through this then it is odd.
