HMRC interview

AIBU to think that waiting 5 weeks after an interview with HMRC and still not heard anything is ridiculously long?!

I interviewed on 8 October. Was told I’d hear 2 weeks from that date. Chased last week via the generic recruitment email to be told they’re still waiting to hear back from the hiring manager and everyone will be updated via the portal regardless of outcome.

Is it just me or is this stupidly long now?

I had this with a job, the hiring manager went off sick then had holiday etc I didn't hear for 6 weeks. However after so long I'd assume I havent got the job to be honest.

Yep. It took over a year for my friend between applying and finally getting the job. The recruitment is so slow. Apparently it's a good place to work, assuming you pass all the security checks and manage to get a start date before reaching retirement age. Good luck!

I did think that but the recruitment email said they haven’t heard anything from the manager yet so it doesn’t mean I’ve been rejected or even accepted yet.
