Returning Apple product bought online AIBU

Sorry for this very boring AIBU!

DD meant to buy a charger plug from Apple but accidentally bought an adaptor instead (bought it online from their official website).

She’s now looking to return it but isn’t sure if she can return it in store (because of Covid restrictions). Does anyone know if she can?

We phoned the Apple helpline to check, but every time we’ve phoned, We keep on getting an automated voice who just asks if I’m calling about an order I’ve placed and then gives generic advice that doesn’t apply to our situation.

We live near a city with a few Apple stores, so can drive in this weekend to return the adaptor. I’m just not sure if any of the stores will accept us returning a product bought online and want to avoid a wasted trip if I can!

Can anyone advise, please?

I'd give it a go. Worst that can happen they give you an address to send it back to but Apple are pretty good tbh

I think you can but instead of calling customer services, find the number to your nearest Apple shop and ring that rather than the helpline and ask.

I bought an iPhone online but decided to return it without opening the box. I rang and asked this question and they said yes it is possible. In the end I booked a courier collection so didn’t do it.
But if it’s possible for one product it should be for another surely?

If you download the Apple store app on an iPhone you can open a chat with Apple and ask that way also.

The website doesn't mention it so probably not.

You could see if there are any drop off points near you. www.apple.com/uk/shop/help/rma_stepbystep
