To think Amazon find it hard to accept cancellations.

Has anyone else had trouble with Amazon music? They've just took £9.99 from my bank account after I'd not only cancelled but had been refunded only 2 months ago for doing the same thing. Then I had the usual nightmare of having to contact them and explaining I'd cancelled and wanted my money back. I'm just so sick of them..... I don't understand why that amount either...... Anyone else?

OP did you subscribe via Amazon itself or through a special offer included with something else?

girlmom21 · 12/11/2021 10:21

They're normally really good with cancellations IME

TotallySuper · 12/11/2021 10:25

Oh yes I had this with the music service. Sacked it off and moved to Spotify but they still took it for a couple of months. I used the online chat both times and got the money back and they sorted it. Not sure why it happened though.

YANBU, OP, they did the same to me. How did you ask for the refund for the two months, did you go via Chat? I've been meaning to ask them to refund me as I cancelled too and got charged.

It's shit because Amazon Prime are so good at cancelling when you click the cancel button.

Hemingwayscats · 12/11/2021 11:09

They’ve been pretty good with cancellations ime, I’ve never had an issue with them even when it was my fault for forgetting to cancel.

tallduckandhandsome · 12/11/2021 11:28

Just went through Chat and they agreed to refund it.

Slightly annoyed as they said they were doing it as a one off gesture.

And didn't even apologise. I cancelled months ago, so to be charged for 2 random months after cancellation was odd.

Ciaram55 · 12/11/2021 12:07

I started off with chat but got nowhere. Eventually managed to phone them (what a carry on that was getting their number). They're refunding but this happened before. Just want to be off their system.

Hmm, might be worth switching to a different debit/credit card?

Long shot but it seems Amazon Music is a separate team so they may not automatically update the credit card.

Anyway, thanks to you I got £20 back so thank you :)

Ciaram55 · 12/11/2021 15:30

@tallduckandhandsome Yes I might have to do that if it continues.....and that's great, you're very welcome Smile

How is contacting Amazon a nightmare? If you click on the Customer Service link it gives you at least two options (currently live chat or instant call back) to contact them.

Ciaram55 · 12/11/2021 16:36

The instant call back didn't happen......and the live chat didn't resolve it.
