I'm 55, work full time and have only DH and one DS (adult) at home as well as the cat. The other two DSs moved out earlier this year. I used to clean the house constantly, wallpaper (although I did have a fit of energy and wallpapered a wall in the kitchen as few months ago), paintbrush was never out of my hand, everything was just so. Now I just can't be arsed. I do as little housework as I can get away with and will quite happily while away hours reading books or on Netflix. I love going down the pub or for a wee day out. I have just realised life is too short to constantly do shit that I don't want to. Well, apart from work, for which I have no choice. I am definitely not lazy at work and am usually knackered when I come home. Anyone else got lazier as they have got older?

I read something the other day that pointed out that busy often involves consuming in one way or another, where as sitting often doesnt. Iys not true in all cases of course but it did make me feel better that I was doing my bit for the environment if I was having a lazy day Grin

You sound like me!
I brought up 2 children on my own and worked full time.
Now, years later, one has moved out and the other is at home but does their own thing but also does their fair share of the chores.
I don't like being busy at home. I'd rather go out and look round the shops and have coffee or lunch. I also downsized to a more manageable property as well which has helped.
I feel like I've done my bit and now I can relax!
