Would I have caught the sick bug by now?

I have quite severe emetophobia. My son was sent home from nursery on Thursday last week as he’d been sick, he had one night of high temperature and one more episode of sickness then was gone by Saturday.
My partner then came down with it on Monday…he threw up on his way home from work and had a temperature/chills, went to bed early. By Tuesday lunchtime he was pretty much back to normal.

We are now on Thursday and no sign of it for me yet. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but can’t believe living in the same house/sharing bed/cuddles/sharing towels and plates, bowls etc I still haven’t got it Confused
The only thing that’s different is that I’m taking antibiotics currently for a sinus infection.

Am I still likely to get it? I feel like I’m tenterhooks all the time. It’s horrible.

I doubt it with that timeline. If you're an emetophobe you've probably been extremely hygienic which reduces the risk of you catching it.

I think you're in the clear by the end of today. It isn't always a given that everyone in the house will get it.

And if you don't feel nauseous or anything now it's unlikely you've got it.

I honestly hope you guys are right.

If it helps to reassure you, I’m emetophobic too and have experienced such anxiety around catching the dreaded V bug. In 10 years of my sons life I’ve never once caught any vomiting bug off him, despite being a single parent so all the cleaning up, sheet washing, cuddles and back rubs were down to me.

I think the whole phobia for me comes from rarely ever being sick, so it’s the great unknown and we often build it up to be much worse than what it actually is. I don’t think you’ll be sick.
