Posting here for traffic, sorry!

I’ve just started a new job where I can pretty much put my headphones in and get on with it. A bit bored of music, so looking for podcast recommendations.

Open to anything really. Thanks!

Anything by Parcast on Spotify.. Truecrime, Cults, Serial Killers, etc.
Carter Roy’s voice alone is worth the price of admission. (It’s free by the way)

Also love “You’re Dead to Me”, which is history and “Fortunately with Fi Glover and Jane Garvey” which is chat, both on the BBC.

Unihorn · 11/11/2021 06:51

Always recommend Parenting Hell, but probably not for work as you're likely to laugh out loud!

TrialofTrials · 11/11/2021 06:52

Slow news podcast by tortoise media
Stories of our time by the times

NannyR · 11/11/2021 06:52

I've been listening to Life Changing with Jane Garvey recently which is pretty good. If you like spooky stuff, the Battersea poltergeist and Uncanny are good, Death in ice valley is an interesting, real life mystery. These are all on BBC sounds.
This podcast will kill you is also great - a light hearted look at different diseases.

wigglycactus · 11/11/2021 06:53

The Lazurus Heist on BBC sounds is absolutely amazing! Absolutely fascinating and eye opening!

TheShadoutCrepes · 11/11/2021 06:56

The ‘Nolan Investigates’ podcast on BBC Sounds regarding Stonewall was fascinating. Really good investigative journalism.

If you have Audible I recommend listening to ‘Gutfull: What to eat for a happy gut’. I am now very invested in the happiness of the microbiome in my digestive tract and a fridge full of fermented sauerkraut as evidence of this.

PooWillyNameChange · 11/11/2021 07:02

Can you laugh out loud at work? My DH and I love gossipmongers but we have a juvenile sense of humour Grin

Robostripes · 11/11/2021 07:16

@Unihorn

Second this, it’s brilliant but I do end up laughing to myself on the bus so often that other passengers must think I’m a bit odd …
mrsfeatherbottom · 11/11/2021 16:13

I'm loving You're Dead to Me - so funny but informative too. I've never been massively into podcasts but in the car a lot at the minute and am thoroughly enjoying these.

Thebig3 · 11/11/2021 16:32

Shagged Married Annoyed is really good!

Kote · 11/11/2021 16:38

Table Manners (Jessie Ware)
Life's a Beach (Alan Carr)
All Killa No Filla (true crime)
Your Own Backyard (true crime - documentary style)

What do you like?

laurenlodge · 11/11/2021 17:38

Dad wrote a porno if you really want to laugh!! Plenty of episodes too.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 11/11/2021 21:23

Oh yes porno is a good call.

Lincslady53 · 11/11/2021 21:28

I like the Frank Skinner and the Jason Manford podcasts on Absolute,
Duchess is surprisingly good. Hosted by Emma Manners, who is the Duchess of Rutland she talks to other ladies about how they manage the stately homes they are responsible for. Lots of history and an interesting look at behind the scenes of some of the countries most beautiful buildings.

Thewomeninthemirror · 11/11/2021 21:29

The Lazarus heist
Dear Joan and Jerica
Girl taken

Also my guilty pleasure that I can never miss; the archers! Yes I’m 37 and proud to lower the age range for that one.

Fusillage · 11/11/2021 21:33

I have literally listened to one podcast series so far (I am 10 years behind) but Dr Death is gripping

jewel1968 · 11/11/2021 21:35

12 minutes to the moon
The morality of everyday things
How I found my voice
I've been thinking

DollyPartBaked · 11/11/2021 21:36

Double Love - a Sweet Valley High podcast!

ChuckGarabedian · 11/11/2021 21:43

Lore, it’s a pretty well-known podcast about true scary stories - definitely recommend.
There is a history podcast I used to listen to loads called Talking Tudors, also very good if you’re into that kinda thing!

72WayTooCool · 11/11/2021 21:51

The Lady Vanishes and Who the hell is Hamish.

Both Australian podcasts. The first being about a woman who vanished nearly 30 years ago with no trace and the ongoing investigation and fight by her daughter to find out the truth behind her disappearance. The second is about a man who conned his way through life, duping various people into parting with huge amounts of money.

Also They Walk Among Us if you're into British true crime.

Fomomofo · 11/11/2021 21:58

Another vote for lazarus heist, also death in cryptoland, hunting warhead, although that's a bit dark , foundering

Whatinthelord · 11/11/2021 22:02

Oooo lots to look try.

I like….
Icant believe it’s not Buddha.
Serial season 1 and 2
Voices for justice ( once I get used to the voice of the creator)

Sausagis · 11/11/2021 22:04

Third (?) vote for My Dad Wrote A Porno
