To ask what on earth this could be?!

I'm having leg issues and was wondering if anyone could give me some insight as I'm really anxious.

I was financially abused and during that time I was subject to wearing really poor fitting or poor condition footwear. Since I've left the abuse and started wearing proper shoes again I'm having serious problems with my right leg/foot.

It's a aching pain that weirdly starts off at the top of my foot and travels up my shin to my thigh. It's abit like a mild cramping/contracting pain with the occasional shooting pain but it's really aching and it's every day it hurts.
I never had this before the shit shoe time. I'm phoning my GP in the morning (to try get an appointment before 2038!) But I was wondering if anyone else has had this? What was it and how did you manage to help it?

Thank you :D

Could be tendinitis from the bad shoes ? Is it quite a deep sort of muscle ache?

VirgilStarkwell · 10/11/2021 23:47

I used to get pain from the tops of my feet up my shins from walking/dancing in boots that had a two inch heel. They looked ace, but were so not worth the pain.

I have to wear flats! I’m not very hardcore.

@thaegumathteth that's what it feels like! a really deep aching pain it's driving me mad

@VirgilStarkwell i didn't get into heels! all i could afford was flip flops so wore them most of the time! heeled boots just are too tempting aren't they, they look so good!

Sounds like something along the lines of shin splints, as you were unable to wear supportive shoes and now your body isn't used to being supported due to weakened and tight muscles. So a biomechanical issue that came about as a result of the abuse and inadequate footwear.

Might you need orthotics or are your shoes better quality but not suitable for the way you stand and walk?

Icing can help, as can gentle stretching and strengthening exercises and painkillers, along with wearing properly fitted running shoes + orthotics to suit your gait whenever possible. See what your GP says, though, first.

You might benefit from sering a podiatrist, your GP should be able to refer you.

Wanted to say shin splints too. Walking a lot in ill fitting footwear will do that.
