Would you go back to this nursery?

It’s agency work, the location is convenient and they have many shifts available. I went today for the first time, the children were great but the staff not so.
Nobody checked my ID or DBS, I could have been anyone really.
I was placed with 4 nursery staff who looked to be in their 20s, 2 of them didn’t say hello or acknowledge me in any shape or form, I looked at them to say hi and they didn’t make any eye contact.
I understand they get a lot of agency staff but just found it rude.
It was an atmosphere where they would bitch about whoever was not in the room at that time.
The room leader had an aggressive way of handling the kids, and shouted at them too.
At one point I put something where it shouldn’t have been, but it wasn’t deliberate. One of the staff just said to us all ‘Can we make sure the bibs go in X place next time’

She then whispered to her colleague ‘She just put them there’!” And then said ‘and what IS that hair’. I have a wig, so I imagine that’s what she meant.

Anyway, it’s a shame as I think I was good with the children and enjoyed the work, plus it’s regular work there. It’s just the atmosphere of the staff that put me off. Would you go back ?

I'd give it a couple more shifts but if it's the same I wouldn't keep going. Assuming you can get shifts elsewhere. Shouting at children is not on and neither is rudeness. Poor practice and leadership from the room leader doesn't make a happy room.

If you can get shifts elsewhere I would and I'd let the agency know why.

If your qualified there is a massive shortage of Staff, personally I’d ask the agency what else they have.

You wouldn't be happy in a place like that.
