My mum is obsessed with DD's hair

She asks every time we see her, so what are you doing with DD's hair? I'm not doing anything it's just her hair. She's just two, gets her hair trimmed every couple of months when her siblings have theirs done. Maybe it's because I haven't left it to grow really long into a toddler mullet, because the front is quite thin. Ahhhhhh maybe it's the lack of bows and clips.

What does your mum mean, if you ask her to elaborate?

Unless her hair is in her eyes, or tangled and straggly, or you’re brushing out natural curls, it’s only hair? Surely neat, clean and not in the way is better than a fancy hairstyle?

FreeBritnee · 10/11/2021 13:11

Does she mean what style do you plan on adopting for her? Just say you’re growing it so you can tie it back later when she starts school.

SequinnedShawl · 10/11/2021 13:15

I'd be tempted to reply “we're waiting for her to choose whether to go blue or green” and just look at her. If she says, “but she's 2”

~ exactly. Hmm

What do you say back to her? For some reason this has really tickled me...I would have to wind her up as she's not being direct and she clearly has an opinion. Do you think that she thinks it looks messy?!

Please cover her head in bows and clips for the next time you see her and see what she says. Go on...I dare you! And every time after that you need to raise you game with new styles and trinkets.

Buzz her head

Justheretoaskaquestion91 · 10/11/2021 15:22

at least you’re not putting a horrendous large stupid headband bow thing on a baby 🤢

Ibizafun · 10/11/2021 15:41

She obviously doesn’t like her hair and wants you to ‘do’ something to it. Ask what she’s going to do to hers?

Kitkat151 · 10/11/2021 16:19

Is it because she wants you to grow it?
My 3 year old GD has never had her hair cut.....it’s right down her back now.....because my DD doesn’t want her baby curls cut out.....and to be fair...it is absolutely beautifuland really thick ...although if it was me I would get it trimmed😊....maybe this is your Mum in reverse?

giraffesateleaves · 10/11/2021 17:14

I think it's because she doesn't have a fringe and her hair is quite short. My mum has short hair and has most of her life. Who knows.

I think my mum might be a hair bitch 😂 She certainly has hair issues, she asked when I was getting my roots done too. I haven't had my hair died in the last 10 years 😬

@Kitkat151 amazing, sounds like she has lovely hair. But my DD would have a mullet if she hadn't had hair cuts
