Can someone identify this rash?

Sorry, I am being unreasonable posting this here but I'm not sure what to do.

Rash has been on my 3 year old since he got up at 4am, wasn't there when he went to bed. Thought it was a heat rash but I've just gone to get him dressed and it's not looking any better. He has small patches of it on his legs and neck also. He has no temp or other signs of illness and it fades under the glass test.

I have called 111 but waiting on a call back and they'll probably tell me to contact the GP by the time they get back to me.

@MichelleScarn yes I've looked at that thank you, but it doesn't really look like any of them so I don't know.

Have you had a look here? Of course this will not replace the advice from 111/some one who actually sees the dc.

Haggisfish3 · 10/11/2021 07:07

It looks a bit like hives.

Ichoochoochoosethis · 10/11/2021 07:07

Looks a bit like hives to me-have you used a new washing powder for the bed sheets perhaps?

IhateBoswell · 10/11/2021 07:07

Are there any small welts? It looks like an allergic reaction to me (certainly how my toddler's allergic reaction rash would look).

CoteDAzur · 10/11/2021 07:10

The small, round, and raised rash on the right looks like urticaria. The rest is hard to tell from the picture.

Does it itch? If so, I'd start him on antihistamine.

Disclaimer - This is just what I would do. I'm not a doctor and this is not medical advice.

Ah could be hives! There were a couple of small white spots this morning but they've gone now and it's just the redness. He is quite an allergic child and is prone to eczema, although he's not had anything different lately and no change of washing powder etc. He suffers anaphylaxis with his other allergies so at least it seems mild if it is a reaction. I've never seen hives on him before. Doesn't seem itchy but I'll give him some piriton and see if that brings it down. Thanks everyone!

Watch out for covid or another virus in the next few days. They can be viral. Ds had this not long ago, followed by a horrendous virus.
