Why is it you love Mumsnet so much?

I started looking at Mumsnet a few years ago now, and since I began I just love it. I look at it at least once a day unless something extraordinary is happening. I prefer it to scrolling social media. My favourites are AIBU and the relationships board.

I'm 27 and no one else I know looks at it. I don't know what I love about it so much but it just really hits the spot. It's fairly rare I'll make a thread but I just wondered - what do you think it is that keeps you coming back? Do you know anyone in real life who also looks at it?

I like AIBU, but I think most of the drama on there is because its made up of written messages and they don't always get explained or read in the way intended. Very easy to cause offense. If you ever want to kick off some random stranger drama mention cat poo.

None of my friends look at MN and find it hilarious that I do, particularly as I’m the only one without kids! I stumbled on it years ago and enjoy it being a mainly female space with (imo) plenty of intelligent, witty, often feminist women discussing things that interest me and having fun. I’ve also learned a lot about people’s different life experiences and drawn on mumsnetters for support. Not to mention spending a lot of money on MN favourites like the Lakeland heated airer (still a joy).

Do 27-year-olds use the phrase "hits the spot"? I find that endearing.Grin

I go on and off the site but I come back every once in a while to see, in the words of Cleavon Little, "where the white women at."
