Advice needed - Spa day/overnight visit

secretrugbyfan · 09/11/2021 05:01

Hello all, and thank you for looking at this request.

I am after a spa day (could be for the day but preferably overnight) where I could take Mrs SRF. I would like to go a bit OTT and say that money is no object, and the venue should be within a three hour travel distance of the Midlands.

It can be a bit niche, or a spa chain, but as long as I can pamper Mrs SRF that's all that matters. We have had a shite few years and she needs this.

I would be happy to take any recommendations from you, as I said earlier for the day, or an overnight stay (which would be preferable).

Thank you again for looking and recommending (if you do).

Well the midlands covers a big area, still you can get to a lot of places within three hours.

Have a look at Sopwell House in St Albans. You will certainly have closer places but I think this will fit the requirement of under three hours plus it is a nice town to visit on the other way or way back.

Dormy house Cotswolds. Beautiful place, will give you wellies for a country walk, amazing food and Spa.

Quite a few good ones over that way though so have a Google

Cliveden

The Woodland Spa near Burnley (it's actually in the countryside just outside the town so don't let the location put you off) is amazing and you can go for the day or stay overnight and should be within your 3 hour distance.

Ragdale Hall near Melton Mowbray, or The Grove near Watford.

DukkaDukka · 09/11/2021 07:38

Bath spa.
Eden hall
Ragdale.

Hoar Cross Hall in Burton is gorgeous. I've been many times.

jimjamgirl · 09/11/2021 07:42

Ragdale Hall - no competition!

TheGoogleMum · 09/11/2021 07:45

PMd you :)

Coworth House, Surrey is very upmarket....
and absolutely beautiful.
That saying, Ragdale Hall must be reasonably close to you, it's in Leicestershire and is really lovely. Definitely stay overnight and go for a deluxe room or suite.
It's a destination spa, not a hotel with spa and the facilities are excellent.
You're cocooned from the outside world and relaxation is what it's all about. But there's lots to do too.
Hope you have a great time wherever you go.

Aqua Sana at Elveden is lovely.

ivegotthisyeah · 09/11/2021 09:18

I'm shit with geography but if north yorks is within your time limit the following are exceptional:
Swinton park
Rock cliff hall
Fethersham arms

Fabpinky · 09/11/2021 09:20

Sopwell house!

thenightsky · 09/11/2021 09:25

Ragdale Hall every time for me! Last time I looked they were booked up till around February though. Sad

AspidistraAnnie · 09/11/2021 09:29

Pennyhill Park is amazing if money is genuinely no object. And should probably be within 3 hours of the Midlands, depending on where you start from!

Lalliella · 09/11/2021 09:45

Aww you sound lovely Mr SRF! I would recommend Ragdale Hall or Whittlebury Hall. There’s lots to do at both. I hope you and Mrs SRF have a wonderful time.
